ADMISSION CRITERIA : B.Sc. NURSING

Duration of the Course : 4 years including internship.

1. The minimum Educational Qualification is 10+2 passed with Science (PCB) & English Core / English Elective with aggregate of 50% marks. 10+2 passed out from recognized board under AISSCE/ CBSE/ ICSE/ HSCE or other equivalent recognized Board.

2. The candidates shall be 17 years on or before 31st December 2021. The Religious Sisters should be at least one year professed.

3. Candidates should be female, of good health and good moral character.

4. Physically and mentally fit to undergo the training.

5. All the courses are in English and proficiency in the language is a requirement for admission. Students who are from the Hindi Medium should attend English coaching classes before joining the nursing course and submit a certificate of the same to the college office. Teaching is done in English hence, the applicant should be able to speak, write and understand English. This is not in any way to demean the vernacular language but a conscious attempt to improve their academic performance.

Note

1. Fourth year final examination will be held only after completing internship and after clearing any back up subjects.

2. Internship requires 8 hours of integrated clinical duties in which 2 weeks of evening and night shift duties are included.

3. Internship should be carried out as 8 hours per day, 48 hours per week as per the curriculum.

THE PRELIMINARY PERIOD

The provisionally selected candidates are to undergo three months preliminary course at the end of which they are required to appear for an examination. Only those candidates with successful performance will be allowed to continue the course. A failed candidate will be given only one more chance to write the examination and if she fails at the second attempt will have to discontinue the course. During preliminary period, students are not permitted any leave. Visitors are allowed only on 1st Sunday of every month from 11.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m

INTERNAL ASSESSMENT

Internal Assessment of the students will be carried out through periodical tests, both in theory and in practical skills in each subject. Attendance at the internal examination is mandatory. 25% of the total marks for each subject under study are allotted to the internal assessment and 75% marks for the University examination.

UNIVERSITY EXAMINATION

Every student appears for University Examination at the end of each academic year. A minimum attendance of 80% for the formal instructions and 100% for the clinical experience is compulsory to appear for the University Examination.

A candidate must have 100% attendance in each of the practical areas before the award of degree.

To make the students eligible to appear for the University Examinations, students must complete the requirements given by the council/university and must obtain a minimum of 50% marks in the Internal Examinations in each subject.
